Caro has recently joined the team at Henderson Medical as a Nurse Practitioner Trainee. She became a Registered Nurse Prescriber in 2021 and has been prescribing most medications needed for the management of acute and long-term conditions for three years.

Caro has a special interest in helping people proactively monitor their health, supporting mana-Motuhake (self-management), and helping whanau to live healthy lifestyles and achieve their health goals and aspirations. She has spent many years helping people who live with the challenges of managing their diabetes, gout, hypertension, asthma, COPD or need weight management advice and oversight.

As a Nurse Practitioner Trainee, Caro has also completed an approved Master’s Degree from Massey University in Auckland and has undergone extra training to become proficient at ordering and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests to make a diagnosis and help people manage their health conditions accordingly.

Nurse Practitioners (NP’s) can prescribe medicines within their area of competence, so please be sure to check that your prescriptions can be filled when booking at reception. Caro works closely with her GP colleagues where there is ongoing collaboration and support.

Outside of work, Caro has a love for adventure and outdoor sports such as skiing, road or mountain biking and getting out on the water with her partner. She loves the South Island and spent four years living and working in Queenstown before her move back to Auckland to further her professional development and spend more time with her four children and two gorgeous mokopuna.
